British Precast Full Members are all required to sign up to the British Precast Charter Membership scheme including our Health and Safety and Sustainability Charters. These Charter schemes are part of the ‘Raising the Bar’ initiative, which demonstrates our members’ commitment to zero harm and improving environmental performance within the industry.
Our Full and Associate Members have demonstrated their support for the development of the precast concrete and masonry industries. Members regularly take part in events hosted by British Precast: every year, British Precast holds our PRECAST exhibition and conference; the networking golf day, and annual dinner and Best Practice Awards. These events allowing both Full and Associate Members the opportunity to showcase the biggest and best the precast concrete sector has to offer.
Alongside our calendar of events, we also hold Safety and Health Awareness Days (SHAD), with practical demonstrations, presentations and expert advice at the heart of the event.
The topic of Sustainability plays a large role in the work of British Precast and our product groups, with our Sustainability Strategy launched in 2007 and KPI reports published annually since 2008. The latter comprises annual performance data, providing an overview of the impact of the precast sector on society and the environment. All Full Members are audited annually against the principles and requirements of the sustainability charter and submit data to include within our annual Sustainability Matters report.
